Our Philosophy

Motherhood Strong programming is designed specifically for mothers as they navigate pregnancy and postpartum.

The workouts are programmed with functional fitness movements and are guided by the individual’s specific needs. Coach Joselyn focuses on core to extremity movements with controlled breathing, which mirrors how our babies gain core strength and mobility as they grow! Moms get the same physical benefits from the simple things that babies do like rolling over or learning to get up from the floor. Motherhood Strong uses these essential movement patterns to help moms prepare, recover, and thrive throughout pregnancy, during birth, and in postpartum.

The coaches of Motherhood Strong are certified by Pregnancy and Postpartum Athleticism and thus are well educated in issues like diastasis recti (the naturally occurring separation of abdominal muscles), pelvic pain, and urinary incontinence. All of these symptoms are common during pregnancy and postpartum, but shouldn’t be considered “normal”. By using the core safely and efficiently some of these problems and symptoms may be alleviated.

Ultimately this focus on the physical transition of pregnancy and postpartum allows mothers to safely workout during their motherhood journey!

Group Classes

  • Each class begins with a focus on foundational breath and warm ups tailored to the movements programmed for that day. Class then moves to strength building and a workout that will get your heart rate up.

  • The warm-up, strength, and workout are different at every training session and focus on using the whole body while dialing in on specific muscle groups.

  • We cater movements and scale appropriately with every individual mom. The class is a mix of prenatal and postpartum moms, and even some grandmas!

  • Commonly used equipment includes the mother’s own body weight, dumbbells, kettlebells, and barbells. All workouts are fully explained and demonstrated; you’ll never feel unprepared or unsafe!

Online Programming

For the busy mom, an at-home self-led programming option may be a great fit!

With Coach Joselyn's expertise and a keen awareness of the pre and postnatal population’s needs, this programming is hosted through a platform that allows for:

  • Video demonstration

  • Client video feedback

  • Direct communication with Joselyn.

Online Training includes twelve workouts a month (three workouts a week over the span of four weeks) for $159.

Clients will begin this experience with a movement assessment with Joselyn. This can be done in person or virtually, based on the needs of the client. Some minimal workout equipment, like dumbbells or kettlebells, is recommended.

All programming is individualized. This service includes but is not limited to: brainstorming techniques, identifying action plans, follow-up procedures to maintain client motivation, educating the client as well as access to Joselyn to ask questions and provide feedback.

One On One Personal Training

Coach Joselyn has limited availability for private in person clients, but if scheduling allows this is a great option! Some moms will combine personal training with online training to have tactile and in person feedback on movements in combination with their home workouts.
